Did you see our booth at Pinellas Park's Holiday in the Park event on Friday, November 30th? S&ME hosted a “Public Input and Information Booth” at the Holiday in the Park. We received input from event participants on their “Preferred Development Types” and “Desired Park and Recreation Amenities”. We also had a “Children's Corner” where kids could write down their ideas for park features on Christmas ornaments that were hung in the booth. We had over 75 people stop by the booth and offer their ideas and thoughts. Lots of good information was gathered that addressed the preferred development types, potential park user groups, design themes and desired uses within the CRA. S&ME wants to give Detective Tippet and the Police Explorers a big shout-out for putting on a very well-organized event that was great fun!

On Tuesday, September 18th, 2018, S&ME presented an update to the CRA Board on the status of the Community Redevelopment Agency Plan Update, and proposed an area for the expansion of the CRA. The CRA Board discussed the boundary proposed by S&ME and revised the area to be included in the Findings of Necessity Study necessary to expand the Redevelopment Area. On Friday, August 10, 2018, between 9AM and 6PM, the Pinellas Park Community Redevelopment Agency hosted an all-day workshop, in the City Auditorium, open to the public. Participants were asked to jot down answers to the following questions:
The Community Redevelopment Agency will hold an open house meeting to update the City’s Community Redevelopment Plan on August 10, 2018. Come anytime between 9AM and 6PM at the City Auditorium located at 7690 59th Street N, Pinellas Park, FL 33781. Residents, business owners and operators, property owners, visitors, artists and entrepreneurs are encouraged to drop by the open house to learn more about the Pinellas Park Community Redevelopment Area, the Redevelopment Plan update process and to talk about your ideas, aspirations and vision for the community!  On June 26, 2018 the S&ME Team met with City of Pinellas Park Staff to kick off the 8-month Pinellas Park Redevelopment Plan Update process. The Pinellas Park Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Staff led a guided tour of the Redevelopment Area pointing out CRA accomplishments, discussing existing programming, and identifying areas of special concern. Following the tour, the S&ME Team and CRA staff had several one-on-one meetings with CRA business owners, residents and stakeholders, that were identified by City Staff, to discuss their perspectives on the Community Redevelopment Agency accomplishments, successes, and the remaining challenges for the Pinellas Park CRA. That same evening, the S&ME Team presented before City Council the Community Redevelopment Plan Update process that will take place over the coming months. The Pinellas Park City Council unanimously approved S&ME's contract to update the Pinellas Park Community Redevelopment Plan.
